A non Blue Cross Prudent Buyer Facility in Bakersfield has been running radio advertisements concerning heart care.  In a true emergency people can go there, be treated and not have any greater co-payment than if the facility was a contracting provider. However, people should realize that:
  • The facility is not a Blue Cross Prudent Buyer Provider
  • If a person goes to this facility and it was not deemed a life-threatening emergency (maybe just heartburn) the person will probably have a large out-of-pocket expense.
